Last week life didn't look very good for heart transplant patient Ernesto Medina from Spain. He was told six months ago that he would need the operation if he was to survive. He immediately planned to make the transatlantic journey to a hospital in Chicago to have the operation. While he was in transit at JFK airport in New York, he received the news that his new heart had been accidentally transported to another hospital. Ernesto then had to get on a different plane to transport him to the other hospital, where the operation was carried out in time. Ernesto is now recovering from the transplant.
